| Huge
spires of golden yellow flowers standing tall above
the foliage are produced in abundance in late summer.
The huge leaves are palmately
cut with deeply toothed margins and are supported
by dark, purplish-black stems. Ligularia. przewalskii,
(Shavalski's Ligularia) has bright-green, large, deeply
cut leaves.
In mid summer, spikes of deep
yellow, star-shaped flowers emerge from the foliage.
These are large plants, need lots of room. Height
of 5-6 feet, and will spread in a few years of years
to form a mound 5 feet wide.
