Mizuho Ogon

The Ogon have been crossbred with many other varieties, so that many gorgeous Hikarimono have been produced. Ogon are required to have a clear shiny head free of any discoloration or spots, and glittering pectoral fins. The metallic luster should continue to the edge of every scale, and the more it covers the body, the more excellent the fish is regarded.

Doitsu Matsuba Ogon having the Doitsu Ogon body and colouring, but with black Matsuba scales along the dorsal ridge. If these scales are neatly aligned, and there are no excess shiny scales, the fish will be distinctive and quite striking. Orange Doitsu Ogon with black Matsuba dorsal ridge scales are called "Mizuho Ogon".

Platinum Ogon

The Platinum Ogon have been improved so that today they have a deep, dull luster. They are the king of the Hikari-mujimono. Other types of Hikarimono have been bred from them. Their body is white with a platinum sheen. their head is supposed to be clear. Both the body and the pectoral fins are required to be shiny.

Ginrin Chagoi

Gin Rin Chagoi, known to be one of more friendly koi.You have it all with this one a Chagoi and a Gin Rin , no need to look any futher.

Chaigoi - Solid brown Koi, sometimes with crosshatching on scales. Grows very large and is a very friendly type of Koi.

Gin Rin - Any Koi with scales that reflect like diamonds in the sunlight. This scalation is over the top of their pattern.

Kujaku

Kujaku are (metallic) platinum koi with orange or orangish-red markings and a gray or black matsuba pattern within the scales.

The scales are overlaid with a black pine-cone pattern. Some are partially scaled (doitsu). These Koi look stunning against the dark bottom of a pond.

Kujaku Ogon is another name for Kujaku.

Ki Utsuri

There are three types of Utsurimono, Shiro, Hi (red) and Ki Utsuri.

Ki Utsuri are the black and yellow koi of the Utsurimono group. Black stripes are desirable on the pectoral fins. Dark and V shaped Sumi markings are preferred for the Ki Utsuri. Bright orange-yellow suits it best. Tiny Sumi spots appear on the base yellow, which is undesirable.

Hi Utsuri are the red or deep orange and black koi of the Utsurimono group, and like the Ki Utsuri, black stripes are necessary on the pectoral fins.

Konjo Asagi

Because the Asagi resembles the Magoi, some beginners do not feel it is a Nishikigoi. There are three types of Magoi--"Tetsu (Iron) Magoi", "Doro (Mud) Magoi," and "Asagi Magoi." The last one is said to be the ancestor of the present Asagi.

Asagi Magoi have a blue back with a light blue or white reticular pattern crossing it. Some scales have a blurred appearance. Hi appears on both cheeks, sides, and pectoral fins.

There are two basic types, the Konjo Asagi and the Narumi Asagi. The black colour of the former is dark blue, similar to that of the Magoi.
